European Association of SE
EASE Newsletter February 14th, 2021

Dear EASE members

We are in the middle of the second and in some countries the third wave of the pandemic and nothing is yet back to normal. Many SE trainings have been postponed and those being realized have been mostly online. Thanks to technique we still can connect with each other in ways that people could only dream about a little more than a decade ago. As EASE Newsletters include information we hope will reach all members of the European SE community we encourage the SE Associations to forward our Newsletters to all its members.

Online GA 2021 + Meeting in October
Because of uncertainty regarding how the pandemic will develop, the EASE Board has taken the decision to postpone the planned General Assembly in June and instead arrange an internet based GA on June 26th. During this one-day meeting we will take care of the legal matters of EASE. According to our Deed this is required to happen during the first half of every year and therefore cannot be postponed. We realize that there is a need for a meeting in real life and hope to be able to arrange an additional 2 day meeting in Lisbon, Portugal in October 2021. During this meeting we plan to open up for proposals and discussions that will not be time for during the short GA on June 26th. We will come back to you with more information as soon as possible.

Call For Proposals for SE Institute Upcoming Online Conference
The Somatic Experiencing Institute, as announced earlier, has chosen to postpone their planned SE conference in San Diego and instead arrange a conference online. The virtual conference will be held June 11-13, 2021 and the theme is “I’m Here! Somatic Experiencing in 2021 & Beyond.” The deadline for applications is Friday, February 26, 2021 at 11:59 pm EST. We hope members from our European community will take the opportunity to join the conference – both as presenters and participants. If you want to send in your abstract please read more in SE Today February.

REMINDER – The Ethics committee
The Ethics committee is waiting for interested persons to join the committee! The function of the Ethics Committee is to continually explore how the ethical spirit of EASE can be sustained and made as explicit as possible. It is to remain attentive to how the qualities of humanity, respect and honesty are involved in the dealings of EASE and its members. Read more here.
